These are some of the areas we address during our various mental health therapies:
Internal Coping Skills
Emotional and cognitive reasoning abilities facilitate the internal development of coping skills for people overcoming any addiction. Our therapists have the demeanor, skill set, experience, and determination to help you use internal coping skills to help you get (and stay) sober.
External Coping Skills
Skills training sessions and situational awareness workshops are examples of the external coping skills you will learn in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.
Relapse Prevention
For people overcoming substance abuse disorder, mindfulness-based mental health therapies can help people avoid relapsing. Identifying high-risk situations is essential in this treatment model. At Sunrise Vista, we dig deeper and work to raise awareness of triggers, helping clients monitor emotional reactions. We also offer role-playing and situation-based training. In the event of a relapse, the awareness and acceptance training acquired during treatment can encourage people to seek the immediate help they need (so a mistake doesn’t turn back into a habit). This training also helps with the minimization of the blame, guilt, and negative thinking that increase the risk of an additional relapse.
Thinking and Behavior
The mindfulness practices we teach during Sunrise Vista’s mental health therapies are individualized to meet each patient’s needs. Our staff is determined to help participants become aware of triggers, monitor internal reactions, voice their needs, and behave appropriately. We focus on recognizing physical, emotional, and cognitive states that can lead to anxiety and depression. Our treatment therapies also help participants increase self-efficacy and coping skills, which have also been shown to help people overcome mental illness.
Giving it Time
Uncovering coping strategies is an essential component of mental health therapy at Sunrise Vista. Learning to cope with life’s challenges in healthy ways can be easier in group settings, but we know that some people prefer one-on-one sessions. Mindfulness training is one of the many therapeutic approaches we offer at Sunrise Vista, our Canton, OH, inpatient and outpatient rehab center. The treatment you will receive at Sunrise Vista is research-based, professional, and community-centered. One of the integral features of the mindfulness training we offer in our therapy programs involves the identification of high-risk situations. Patients are trained to recognize signals and address warning signs in order to manage anxiety and maintain composure. We understand that becoming mindful takes time. Our patients agree: We offer the best mental health therapy programs in Canton, OH.
